Quincy-8 year old Lab mix weighing about 85 lbs. Neutered, house trained and up-to-date on vaccinations.
Child appropriate? Quincy would do best in a home with children over the age of 10 who can respect his space. He is an older guy so young really energetic children might stress him out.
Other dog appropriate? Quincy lives with 3 pugs right now and does fine with them. He tested fine with dogs at the shelter but we think lower energy dogs and/or dogs his age would be best.
Cat appropriate? Quincy has not been cat tested but we will cat test for serious inquiries.
How is he/she with strangers? Quincy needs to greet strangers slowly as new people can occasionally make him nervous. Once he meets you he is fine but the initial intro needs to be slow with treats!
What is his/her play style? Pretty mellow with some basic play bowing and light running around. He tires out though and then likes to take it easy!
Does he/she like toys? Quincy enjoys his plastic bones but that seems to be the only toys he is interested in. No tennis balls for this boy!
Does he/she like water? He enjoys wading in the creek but does not appear to be a fan of swimming in lakes or ponds or getting into kiddie pools.
Does he/she like car rides? Yes!
Exercise level needed? Quincy is older so he has lower energy. He enjoys a walk around the neighborhood or trip down to a creek or stream
Behavior issues? Nope! Just needs slow intros to strangers and that's about it.
Special/endearing things? Quincy is a very loving, mellow dog who enjoys the company of his human companions and getting belly rubs. He will also steal a kiss or two with his big, Lab tongue! He is playful with his caregivers and even play bows with his pug siblings. His foster describes him as "a big, lovable, sweet, dog, who loves just kicking back with his family and enjoying life at a gentle pace."
