Cruiser is a big, happy, goofy 3 year old male mixed breed dog who lights up the room when he bounds in! When we say big, we mean a solid 70 lbs big! He's all Lab with his "true to breed" love of tennis balls and stuffy toys and is even very good at amusing himself when given his toys. Cruiser previously lived with a family that included a 6 year old child and did just fine and he really misses a family. Cruiser loves "bird hunting" in the yard and knows all the best bushes and trees where the birds hide and the first thing he does is run out and surprise them! He's even quite good at climbing some trees in pursuit!
Cruiser has a strong eagerness to please and he already knows how to sit, lay down and to shake hands. He is working on his leash manners, as he likes to embrace life to the fullest when out for a walk so we are trying to teach him to save that zeal for the back yard and tone it down a bit! He is playful and friendly with everyone, including adults, kids, and most other dogs. He would do great in a home with children and despite his size, he is quite gentle with little people. We would love to see him adopted by a family with children because he's the kind of dog kids should grow up with and make memories alongside :) He will require a meet and greet with any household dogs as he has liked some dogs and not liked others so it will really depend on the dog. We are not sure how he is with cats but will cat test him for serious adopters.
Cruiser is house trained and crate trained and is used to sleeping in his crate at night. In his current foster home his foster dad describes him as very easy to care for and very loving. Cruiser is up-to-date on his vaccinations and is microchipped and neutered. If you are interested in adding a bit of fun to your family, please consider adopting this playful boy!
